Sunday Funday

Steps and Bridges
Jeff Klepper

False hope is much like false desire
It fades in its own self-absorbed brier
It is easy to ignore the signs of indifference
Interwoven within humanities practiced distance
Visible or not, cosmic and sought, this is what makes up the lost and forgot
The perilous and begot, the cultured and the not, all this majesty for not
We do not bleed to live, we live to find a suffering state
Where cause is causes own reliance on the imagined worlds we portray
Unbeknownst to our psyche we indulge and obey
Till our last breath, the nose and mouths last kiss, we do find peace
An olive branch of piece of mind, and a tour guide for the deceased

This is a new poem but somehow it disappeared off the website…

The Rhythmic Rumblings of Capitulations Past
Jeff Klepper

God may have died by character assassination
But we all are guilty by association

Relevancy padded by proper nouns and tongue tied lists
Proposals of rebirth covered up by the loosest of lips

Pray to air, pray to sea, pray to you, pray to be
Pray we leave, pray we pass, pray we die and are the last
For today is gone and morrow too, for pendulums swing above our tomb
Crow the speech, hail the chief, forge ahead, the graves are deep
Pledge your worth, strike your drum, and hedge the water, the sea it hums
Wear a crown, dress a maid, play a tune, crosses fade

Yawn a breath, cry a tear, and soon enough passes another year–
Forgive the length though far too long; morrow captures a lonesome song
